Wordle with pictures? A different kind of daily word game

pictle keeps what made daily puzzles spread — one shared puzzle a day, a result card you can post without spoiling the answer — and changes the clue. Instead of starting from nothing but a blank grid, you get a picture, hidden behind five cards.

Why a picture changes the puzzle

In a letter-only game, your first guess is mostly a probe: you spend it buying information. A picture gives you a semantic anchor before you type anything, so the first guess is already a hypothesis. That shifts the skill being tested from "which letters should I burn first" toward "which word fits what I can see" — and it makes the game legible to people who are still building English vocabulary, because the image carries part of the meaning.

The picture is never blurred. It is covered by five colored cards: one opens for free, and every guess opens one more. Three vague written clues appear only when the third, fourth and fifth cards open, so the difficulty ramps within a single puzzle instead of staying flat.

One shared challenge, two practice puzzles

Every day, one Daily Challenge is identical for all players worldwide. It counts toward a streak and produces the result card worth posting. Two more puzzles per level are practice: same for everyone, never touching your streak, and designed to be sent to a friend with "can you beat my score?". A finished puzzle cannot be replayed that day — new ones arrive tomorrow.

Choosing a level

Pick 4, 5 or 6 letters. Each level has its own 100-word bank, shuffled so no word repeats within a cycle. The 4-letter level is the gentlest, 5 is the classic format, and 6 is where the four-guess limit starts to bite.

Questions players ask

Is pictle a Wordle clone?

It keeps the daily, shared, spoiler-free result card and the green/yellow/gray letter feedback. The clue is a picture revealed one card at a time, and you choose between 4-, 5- and 6-letter answers.

Is there a Wordle with pictures?

pictle is a daily picture word game: five colored cards cover a sharp illustration, one opens for free and each guess opens one more. Three deliberately vague clues appear only on the third, fourth and fifth cards.

Can I play more than one puzzle a day?

Yes. There is one shared Daily Challenge that counts toward your streak, plus two practice puzzles per level that never affect the streak and are meant for challenging a friend.

Does a wrong word cost a guess?

No. Only real English words of the correct length are accepted; anything else is rejected without consuming one of your four tries.

Do I need an account?

No. An optional email login saves results, streaks and the Daily Challenge email subscription so they follow you across devices.
