What is pictle?

pictle is a free daily picture word game. A sharp image is hidden behind five cards; each guess opens one more. You have four tries to name the English word behind it, choosing 4, 5 or 6 letters. Every day brings one Daily Challenge shared by all players worldwide, plus two practice puzzles.

Made for Wordle fans, English learners and anyone with two minutes to spare. The interface supports 15 languages; answers are always English words.

Daily Challenge vs. Practice

There is one Daily Challenge per day, shared by every player worldwide. It counts toward your streak and is the one to post and compare. Practice adds two more puzzles per day, also identical for everyone, but never affects your streak — ideal for inviting a friend. Once a puzzle is finished it cannot be replayed; new ones arrive tomorrow.

How to play

1

Look at the picture

The picture is never blurry, just covered. One card opens for free at the start.

2

Type an English word

It must be as long as the level you picked. Green = right letter, right place. Yellow = right letter, wrong place. Grey = not in the word.

3

Each guess reveals more

Four tries, four cards. Clues only start appearing with the 3rd card.

Frequently asked questions

What changes between levels?

Only the answer length: 4 letters is easiest, 5 is classic, 6 is the real challenge. Each level has one Daily Challenge and two practice puzzles every day.

Why only four tries?

One card opens for free, so the other four match your four tries. Every guess shows you something new.

Can I type any letters?

It has to be a real English word of the right length. A wrong word does not cost you a try.

Will sharing spoil the answer?

No. Results show only your tries and squares — never the answer or the full picture.

Do I need an account?

No. Play without one; sign in to keep your stats and streaks across phones and browsers.
